Chargel, founded in 2021 by Senegalese brothers Moustapha and Alioune Ndoye, aims to disrupt the logistics sector in Francophone West Africa. By connecting shippers with available trucks, the startup seeks to create the region’s largest road freight transport network and make trucking more efficient, reliable, and transparent.

Chargel brings the offline operations of trucking online, matching shippers with transporters at the right price and reshaping the infrastructure around trucking. This includes facilitating payments, fuel management, insurance, and more.

By pooling together independent transporters, the platform provides access to freight anytime, helping to reduce empty miles and offering fast payments. Additionally, it offers value-added services such as GPS plotters, fuel purchase assistance at reduced rates, and help with repairs in the event of breakdowns.

Leveraging technology, the platform digitizes the freight brokerage process, enabling shippers of all sizes to find carriers that suit them at the best price in just a few clicks. They can also track their goods while on the move and receive notifications once delivery is complete.

With major shipping companies like Maersk and Grimaldi as early clients, Chargel recently secured a $2.5 million seed round led by Logos Ventures. The startup is now looking to expand to one other Francophone country.
