HeyFood was founded in 2021 in Ibadan, Nigeria, with the goal of bringing DoorDash-style delivery to Africa’s tier-two cities. It was started by Taiwo Akinropo and Demilade Odetara to solve delivery problems for students. HeyFood now serves consumers in underserved markets across Ibadan, Benin City, Abuja, Abeokuta, and Port Harcourt, and is considering expanding into Goma and Mombasa. The company operates with a lean team and reports profitability from day one.
