The first two months of the year have been impressive for African startups, as we’ve recorded over 84 funding deals resulting in a total of $728.5 million raised in disclosed venture capital funding across the continent. This is a promising start to the year, especially as it represents a 16% increase from the total amount raised in Q4 of last year.
However, it’s worth noting that the majority of this funding was raised by a few startups. In fact, 90.2% of these funds were raised by just 10 startups.
